Florida Gator 2012 Hype
I love this video. I think this gets you ready if you are a Gator!!! It's also interesting to see who they are putting on the face of the program. Trey Burton is definitely all over it. So is Powel, Easley, Debose, and at QB, I saw some of Brissett.
What was funny about the video is there was not much footage or highlights for the later games of the season. As the season progress we seem to stink it up even more.
But, Go Gators!!! I bleed orange and blue.
Good Day For Gator Sports
Well, the baseball team had a chance to sweep Auburn and win a share of the SEC....they fell short with a play at the plate. But, it's okay guys...on to the SEC Tournament in Hoover. We are very proud of your season.
The rest of the Gator Sports were winning some huge matches on the day though.
Women's Softball had a tough Friday in suspending three starters and eventually kicking them off the team. They came back on Saturday and won two games to set of the Regional Championship Game against South Florida today at 1pm. I watched their last game. A lot of young players in there now. And, they don't look comfortable at the plate yet. And, it doesn't get any easier if they get past today. But, I do give them credit for rallying as a team and not letting their season take a nose dive after such high expectations at the beginning of the season.
Women's Lacrosse dominated Penn State. I don't think that match was ever in doubt. They meet Syracuse in Stoney Brook, New York in the Final Four. Congrats again ladies.
Women's Tennis, #2 in the nation and 25-1 on the season, swept their match on Saturday 4-0 and sent the Miami Hurricanes home. The Final Four is set with Florida, UCLA, USC, and Duke. Florida will play Duke who beat Georgia, a consistent tennis powerhouse themselves. Duke is also riding a 18 game winning streak. Good luck ladies.
Gator Softball Faces Controversy
I said yesterday that Coach Walton would not have kicked three of his starters off the team if it were not for a reason....if it were not his only recourse. And, wow, to find out today that the team and divided into two clicks....and it was all over racial slurs blows me away.
Well, as I have been told often....racism is still here and very sad. I am glad Coach took a stand. You can't have a team or a controlled locker room with that type of foolishness.
What amazes me is these ladies have and abundance of talent and luck....but, hardly any common sense. Let's pray that experience is a good teacher.
So, the ladies lose to Florida Gulf Coast and put themselves in the losers bracket. And, then they trounce the UCF Knights today. Let's see if they can keep the momentum going and beat FGC tonight. They obviously lost to South Florida who remains undefeated. Three more wins ladies and we move on to Oklahoma.
Congrats To Womens Lacrosse
This program has been around for three years. And, today they made the Final Four by beating Penn State 15-2. What an awesome year for these ladies.
Happy Mother's Day!!!
Happy Mother's Day Mom. I am so proud to be your daughter. You are without a doubt my role model and hero. I have always wanted to be like you. I am afraid I am more like you than I ever thought I would be.
But, thank you for pouring into me. For taking the time to make me a lady. To show me the importance of me.
I honor you this day and every day. And, sure you will get flowers from all of us. But, none more bigger...more special than what's in our hearts for you.
You made us...and yes, there were plenty of times when we thought you were a little left of center with all the discipline. But, I pray that when my children are in the this world I show them the same kind of love and give that same discipline and structure. It's what made me the me that I am. I don't mind....in fact I welcomed it....if my kids think I am little to left of center too. It means I am doing it the right way....the Godly way. I thank God for you Mom....for all the late night talks and early morning lazy conversations in bed.
They shaped my mind. And, I never veered away from those life's lessons.
I also want to thank God for Mrs Turner. What an awesome woman in her own right. Raising all of her kids and now raising foster kids. You are my secret hero too....and you don't know me that well yet. May your day be what you want it to be. Thanks for all that you do and what you did for a certain young man.
And, praises to Ms. Ogarroh. My prayer is that you are cancer free. That the battle is the Lords. You are a wonderful woman.
Happy Mother's Day ladies.....
If I am anything near your levels I am on my way to greatness. To be the epitome of grace and on the brink of being a wonderful mother. I owe you all for what you have done and what you are going to do in my life.
Signed...your favorite child....the daughter....the cutest one....the one that makes you laugh the hardest.
Michelle Moultrie
Congrats to her for being named SEC Player of the Year in Softball. What an accomplishment!
I was telling her story about her humble beginnings. She went from not being offered a scholly to Florida to being their most productive Sr. She lead the conference in batting average. Quite a feat for an athlete who had to request a workout with Coach Walton. Congrats again Michelle Moultrie. I for one am truly inspired.
A Sign....
I have never been a believer in fortune cookies and their sayings. But, today it is dead on. A clear sign...and true proclamation. And, completely worthy of a post on my blog. I hope my baby uses that raggedy iPhone of his and checks this out.
Junior Seau
Tragedy....
To me he will always be remembered as one of the good guys. One of those players you love to have in the locker room. I got a chance to see him play in person when he was a Dolphin.
I thought he was a beast on the playing field. I thought he brought it on the field. But, he also seemed to be such a community first guy. I have read on many accounts of his acts of kindness and being involved in the San Diego neighborhoods.
Heartbreaking to see his Mom break down on ESPN.
But, more than anything heartbreaking to hear that he took his own life. I wish there had been
evidence of witnessing going on his life. To tell him about the goodness of God.
John 11:26 “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.I can't say rest in peace to him. If you believe in the word you know where he is right now. I pray that the NFL takes a look at concussions....takes a look at depression for these players. And, most of all get them some counseling on what to expect when the lights go off...when people stop whispering about you and bugging you for autographs....when that fifteen minutes of fame is used up. Then what? Seau's what obviously didn't seem to bright to him. A tragedy....
This Is Pretty Cool
Just seeing this makes you think about the important things in life. Put's life completely in perspective. It's also a reminder of how powerful and magnificent God is. A shout out to Papi this morning. I love you...
Update On Lacrosse From Gatorsports....3/20
The No. 10 Florida lacrosse team battled against a quick, aggressive Syracuse squad to defeat the No. 11 team in the country, 16-11, in front of 937 fans at Donald R. Dizney Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Gators were led by sophomore attacker Ashley Bruns (Ellicott City, Md.), who tied her career-high and her own school record with six goals while adding an assist for a season-high seven points. Florida also saw hat tricks from sophomore midfielders Kitty Cullen (Rockville, Md.) and Brittany Dashiell (Bel Air, Md.).
Sophomore attacker Janine Hillier (Farmingdale, N.Y.) tied her career high in points with four (2 goals, 2 assists), adding two draw controls. Sophomore attacker Caroline Chesterman (South Nyack, N.Y.) scored and added an assist while sophomore midfielder Jamie Reeg (Atlantis, Fla.) scored her first goal of the season.
The Gators were a perfect 4-for-4 from free position and outshot the Orange, 27-20. Florida won the battle on the draw, 18-10, continuing the Gators’ streak of winning the game when out-drawing their opponent. Chesterman and Dashiell each had a team-high four draw controls, which is Chesterman’s career high.
“The draw is so important,” Florida head coach Amanda O’Leary said. “When you possess the ball, they can’t score. Those 18 draws were critical because we needed possession of the ball. Their attackers are such threats and if you give them an inch, the ball is going in the back of the net.”

The Swamp
One of the best places to be in College Football. Named the "Swamp" by Steve Spurrier we consider it a place where "Only Gators Get Out Alive."
